Copa América 2024 dates Released, Check the latest Copa America 2024 Schedule: After a long wait, CONMEBOL has finally announced the highly anticipated 2024 Copa America dates. One of the world’s biggest football event is set to return to the United States after 2016.
Yesterday on June 20th, CONMEBOL released COPA AMERICA 2024 dates. The tournament is scheduled for June 20 through July 14. CONMEBOL will be supervising the event this year.
Earlier Ecuador was likely to host COPA AMERICA 2024, but due to certain circumstances, the country refused to host the event. Peru and USA both expressed their interest in hosting the league. Under the strategic partnership of CONCACAF and CONMEBOL, USA was chosen as the host at the last moment.
The 2024 Copa America tournament will be an advanced stage to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As the FIFA world cup 2026 will be hosted by CONMEBOL countries, COPA AMERICA 2024 is being speculated as big as the world cup itself.
FIFA football world cup 2026 will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, showing the critical role of North America in international football.
Copa America 2024 Teams
Copa America 2024 will have 16 teams. 10 teams will be from CONMEBOL and six from CONCACAF.
As Conmebol is organizing this event, the national teams from CONMEBOL are automatically selected.
The 6 teams from Concacaf will have to play for the spots in 2023-24 CONCACAF nations league.
